LARKANA, Oct 28: Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, president, People’s Party Parliamentarians, Sindh chapter, and leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, has said that the conference of chief ministers was a conference of puppets except the NWFP chief minister who had a standing of his own.
They have artificial majority under compulsion with the interference of the quarters concerned, he said while talking to this correspondent on Tuesday.
He said the NWFP chief minister categorically condemned the construction of the Kalabagh dam while the others were “not only lotas but the prisoners of the Legal Framework Order”.
Without naming the chief minister, Sindh, he said one of them was trying to protect himself with his degree being declared void.
He terming the Sindh chief minister meek and weak, said that he got nothing for Sindh in the resources’ distribution formula and sold away the rights of Sindh for a temporary job, the future of which is hanging under the sword of the LFO.
He said when Punjab wants water under the 1994 ministerial water apportionment accord on historical basis, it itself is negating the 1991 accord which had given it the right to build a dam from its own water share.
Mr Khuhro said it was the right decision to boycott the run-off elections for district Naib Nazim, Dadu, where Vilayat Jatoi and Ihsan Jatoi were inside polling stations and stamping and stuffing the ballot boxes seeking support of the DPOs.
Federal minister for industries Liaquat Jatoi, issued threats to the presiding officer. He said in the real sense, the PPP had won the election after getting 754 votes, while its opponent despite mobilizing the entire state machinery obtained 739 votes.
