QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that he will accept any decision of the PML-N leadership for a change of government in the province under the Murree accord.

“I have repeatedly said that I will accept any decision taken in line with the Murree accord as it is not an issue for me,” the chief minister told journalists here on Friday. “The National Party has already given a policy statement on the issue.”

In reply to a question about the local government institutions, Dr Baloch said that powers had been given to the LG institutions because his party believed that these institutions were necessary for promotion of democracy at grassroots level. He said that in the current financial year the Balochistan government had allocated Rs5 billion for local bodies and the amount would be spent on development projects announced by local bodies’ institutions.
