Kamran and Noor shine

LAHORE, Oct 27: Two goals each by Kamran Noorudin and Tanvir Tariq enabled Ravi Autos to thrash Sherwood 8-2  in the first match of Guard Rice polo tournament at Lahore Polo Club ground on Monday.

With two goals on handicap, Ravi dominated all the four chukkers.

Umar Sadik of Sherwood, who seemed to be in total control of the  ball during the match and displayed some very  fine  strokes struck in the first chukker with a lofted shot to reduce the lead 2-1.

Ravi again extended their lead (3-1) when Kamran  opened  his account in the second chukker.

Three goals were scored in the third chukker with Ravi gaining a 5-2 lead by adding two more goals.

Saqib Khakwani banged home first for the winners. He scored  a field goal on solo effort. Soon, Ahmed Zubair of Sherwood cut the lead by scoring a spectacular goal by a narrow angle.

 But Irfan  Sheikh widened the lead for Ravi by scoring  a  field goal in the dying minutes.

Ravi dominted the final chukker scoring three goals without conceding any.

Tanvir  scored his two goals, both after a long chase of  the ball. Kamran added his second, converting a 40 yards penalty  hit to seal the fate of the match.

Ravi  Autos:  Tanvir Tariq (-2), Kamran Noorudin (0), Saqib Khakwani (2), Irfan Sheikh (-2).

Sherwood: Umer Sadik (2), Ahmad Zubair (0), Ehsan Elahi (1), Ali Malik (-2).
