ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: Atif R. Khan, President and CEO of LMK Resources on Monday confirmed that Halliburton planned to set up an institute in Pakistan.
He said the institute would provide employment opportunities to many Pakistanis in Middle East besides putting the country on the world map as a Centre of Excellence for Petroleum Studies. LMK Resources is a subsidiary of Halliburton.
He said that the proposed institute was being planned in Pakistan not because of any terrorist threat in the United States but to cost effectively groom local resources.
He also clarified that Dick Cheney was the President & CEO of Halliburton from 1995-2000 and left before being nominated for Vice President of the US.
