11 education projects approved

MARDAN, Oct 27: The District Development Committee has approved 11 schemes for the education sector to be completed under the Annual Development Programme at an estimated cost of Rs94.3 million.

The committee, which met here on Monday with District Coordination Officer Syed Khan Orakzai in the chair, reviewed technical aspects of the proposed schemes before according its approval.

The projects include construction of 50 additional rooms in various primary schools, procurement of furniture for primary schools, establishment of girls primary schools at Baram Khan Killi and Nodeh, and boys school at Sowarian, upgradation of eight schools to middle level and seven schools to high level.

The committee also approved six schemes falling under the constituencies of MPA Maulana Amanat Shah Kashmiri to be completed under the Tameer Sarhad Programme.

The DCO urged the MPAs to submit their development schemes forthwith for approval.
