HYDERABAD, Oct 27: The Regional Police Officer, Hyderabad region, Mushtaq Shah, has expressed his dissatisfaction over the police investigation into the murder case of Shazia Khaskheli and Mohammad Hassan Solangi, it was learnt through official sources here on Monday.

The RPO observed that mere statement of police officials that three men, Ali Sher, Karo and Chhutto Khaskheli, appeared at the Sanghar police station and confessed that they had killed the couple was not sufficient to prove the murder. He believed that the real culprit could be someone else.

Since he was not satisfied with the investigation conducted by the Sanghar police, Mr Shah appointed the Hyderabad DSP, investigations (rural), Imdad Hussain, and two inspectors to probe the case.

The inquiry into the case was initiated after the Supreme Court took a suo motu notice of the killing of the couple.

The RPO had informed the Supreme Court that he would communicate the findings of the investigation to the court soon after the inquiry was completed.

Mr Shah confirmed to this correspondent that he had appointed the DSP as the inquiry officer.

The DSP, to be assisted by two inspectors, was given the case after the RPO went to Sanghar and conducted preliminary investigation into the case by hearing viewpoints of different sides who were related to the incident.

Mr Shah also verified different reports which suggested that the couple was shot dead by a firing squad after a Jirga verdict.

He disapproved the report that the couple were killed on the Jirga direction.

He submitted his report to the Supreme Court.

NAZIM: Adviser to chief minister on home affairs Aftab Ahmed Sheikh has said that the district Nazim, Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman, would be inducted into the committee that would monitor and supervise Rs10.5 billion development plan in the district.

Talking to newsmen after attending a meeting on Saturday at the circuit house, he said earlier notification issued by the Sindh chief secretary regarding the appointment of committee members had been withdrawn and a new one would soon be issued.

He said inclusion of the district Nazim in the committee would guarantee success of the project which would be carried out in five years through the Frontier Works Organization.

Mr Shaikh said the Nazim’s consultation at every level was essential as he represented the district.
