LAHORE, Dec 26: Wapda has denied as “baseless” a report carried by Dawn on Dec 21 conveying the impression that the present chiefs of distribution companies (Discos) are being replaced.

A Wapda press release pointed out that a reduction in line losses from 42 per cent to 25 per cent and a jump in revenue from Rs 89 billion to 176 billion had been achieved under the leadership of the present Disco chiefs (army brigadiers) and there was absolutely no move to replace them.
