Videos of the attacks as they unfolded started to emerge on social media soon after the violence ended.

Stade de France

In the north of the city, three suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the Stade de France national stadium where France were playing Germany in an international football match.

In the following video clip, the sound of one of the explosions can be heard over the noise of the game:

As the crowd was evacuated from the stadium, many sang France’s national anthem, La Marseillaise as an expression of solidarity.

Restaurants attacked

Militants opened fire on Cambodian and Japanese restaurants, leaving many dead in a busy nightlife district. The gunshots can be heard in the following video shared on Twitter.

Gunshots and sirens

In another video, the sound of gunshots can be heard.

Parisian streets were filled with the sound of police sirens and convoys of ambulances shipping the injured to hospital.

The aftermath of another explosion can be seen in this video.

Eiffel Tower goes dark

The glimmering lights of Eiffel Tower were turned off in wake of the deadly attacks. This video clip captures the moment.

Investigators said at least eight attackers were dead by the end of the violence — the bloodiest in Europe since the Madrid train bombings in 2004 — with seven of them having blown themselves up.
