KARACHI: Teenager shot dead

KARACHI, Dec 26: Three persons were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the city during the last 48 hours.

A housewife was strangulated by her husband in Pak Colony on Tuesday. Police said that the victim Islam Bibi, aged 30, was chocked to death by her husband Mumtaz at their residence in Mianwali Colony, Pak Colony. Mumtaz managed to flee after throttling his wife, police said that the couple had several children.

Police suspect that a domestic dispute resulted in the killing of the woman. The victim’s body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for postmortem.

A watchman was killed by unknown assailants near Old Sabzi Mandi on Tuesday night.

Police said that Kalay Khan, aged 58, a watchman of a vacant plot was slaughtered by his relative Abdul Sattar who was also a watchman of the same premises.

In another incident a young boy was found dead in the North Nazimabad police limits on Tuesday morning.

The body of the victim, identified as Noor Halim, 18, was recovered near Abdullah College.

The hospital sources said Halim had suffered several bullet wounds. But a bullet went through his chest which proved fatal for him. His body was shifted to the Abbasi hospital.

ACCIDENT: A boy was killed and his companion injured in a road traffic accident in Baldia Town on Tuesday.

Police said that Zeeshan, aged 13, died while Waseem, aged 12, sustained injuries when their Suzuki (KG-2641) was hit in rear by a minibus of route (G-11, PE-3978) in the Baldia Town police limits.

Haleem, 26, was knocked down by an unknown vehicle in the limits of the Quaidabad police station. The victim was shifted to the a private hospital where he was pronounced dead by the doctors.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A young man attempted suicide in Orangi Town. Waseem, a college student, was scolded by his father for failing in examination.

Frustrated over being reprimanded by his father, Waseem tried to put an end to his life by consuming a heavy dose of drug, he was taken to hospital by his parents where his condition was stated as out of danger.
