Rs15,000 cheque given to students

SKARDU, Oct 25: Chairman District Zakat Committee Ghanche Syed Bahadur Ali Salik has given a cheque of Rs15,000 for students of the Tameer-e-Millat Secondary Public School at Jinnah Town, Skardu.

The cheque was presented during the parents’ day function of the school on Saturday.

Five thousand rupees were presented by the School Management Committee (SMC) member advocate Ghulam Nabi and Rs2,000 by chief of the education department, Skardu.

Students presented different types of programmes during the event, which were appreciated by the gathering.

Later shields for position holders were distributed.

Speaking on the occasion Chief of Education Department Skardu Haji Abdullah Islahi said that modern education was the need of the hour to make the Pakistani nation a strong one and added that it would enable Pakistanis to compete at the international level in all walks of life.—PPI
