ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is trying to reach out to 30 political parties to fulfil the formalities for holding the local government elections in Islamabad on November 30.
Letters sent to the 30 parties have returned to the ECP as the addresses provided by them were either incomplete or had been changed.
In the letter, the ECP had asked the heads of the political parties to issue tickets to their candidates to complete the of the allotment of symbols.
The tickets were required to be presented to the returning officer (RO) concerned by the candidate for the allotment of a symbol.
The ECP said the last date for the issuance of tickets is November 9.
The parties which could not be reached by the ECP included Aam Insan Movement, Mohib-i-Wattan Movement, All Pakistan Ghuraba League, Muttahidda Tehreek Inqlab Pakistan, All Pakistan Minorities Alliance, Pak Wattan Party, All Pakistan Muslim League, Pakistan Awami Tehreek-i-Inqilab, Awami Himayat Tehreek Pakistan, Pakistan Liberation League, Gen Pervez Musharraf Himayat Tehreek, Pakistan Muhafiz Party and Human Development Movement.
