QUETTA: The emir of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl’s Balochistan chapter, Maulana Faiz Mohammad, has said his party will not join the coalition government led by the PML-N which is likely to be formed in the province under the Murree Accord.

Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, he said the decision had been taken recently at the three-day meeting of the provincial executive committee of the JUI-F.

The Maulana said the meeting had observed that no JUI-F leader or member of the provincial assembly from the party had been empowered to hold talks with any political party to seek partnership in the coalition government.

Disciplinary action would be taken against the leaders and MPAs who failed to obey the decision, he warned.

He said the meeting reviewed the performance of the incumbent coalition government and observed that it had failed to deliver. During the two and half years of its tenure, he said, the government had failed to solve the problems being faced by the people.

The law and order situation was deteriorating by the day and kidnapping for ransom had become routine, he added.

“Corruption is on the rise in the province and many provincial ministers are involved in looting and plundering public money,” Maulana Faiz Mohammad said.

There was no chance of improvement in the situation even after a change in government, he said.

The meeting also discussed the JUI-F’s organisational affairs and took important decisions in the regard, he added.
