TOBA TEK SINGH: Police arrested a man and his brother, father and mother for allegedly stoning his wife to death in Chak 323-JB, on Monday.

Earlier, the family said Shabana Parveen, wife of Ghazanfar Jat, of Chak 323-JB, fell from the roof of their house when she was on phone. She was taken to the Toba DHQ hospital where she died.

Later, it emerged Shabana had been killed by her husband and in-laws. The police arrested her husband, his younger brother, father and mother for lynching Shabana to death.

The 23-year-old had married Ghazanfar two years ago and was the mother of a daughter.

Police said her in-laws would quarrel with her over the birth of the daughter. On Monday, there was an exchange of words between Shabana and the family. Police arrested the family after the registration of a case. — Correspondent
