SHIKARPUR, Oct 23: A meeting of the district council, Shikarpur, was held here on Thursday to consider development works in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the district Nazim, Mohammad Arif Mahar, criticized the Taluka municipal administration, Shikarpur, regarding the sanitation problems being faced by the citizens.

He urged the Taluka municipal administration to take action against the officials responsible.

He informed the session that under the Khushhal Pakistan Programme-IV, Rs4 million had been allocated for reconstruction of Circular Road, Shikarpur, while Rs2 million had been given by MNA Ghous Bux Khan Mahar from his MNA special development funds for reconstruction of Station Road from Rustam Chowk Road to the PIA office, Jumani Hall, for which tenders had also been called.

The session expressed concern over the law and order situation in the district and delay in the investigation of the murder case of a journalist, Ameer Bux Brohi, who was shot dead by some criminals in Shikarpur 20 days back.

The session demanded through a resolution that the DPO, Shikarpur, and other police officers arrest the culprits involved in the killing of journalists without any further delay.
