KARACHI, Oct 23: The Sindh education and literacy department is holding awards distribution ceremony for students at D.J. Science College on Friday.

Federal Education Minister Zubaida Jalal will be the chief guest.

The provincial education ministers and secretaries of Punjab, Balochistan, NWFP, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Sindh provinces will also attend the ceremony.

The department will award cash prizes, shields and certificates to the college and school students showing outstanding performance in the fields of science, arts, culture and sports. Besides, the department will distribute five million rupees through 200 cheques among students as poverty cum merit scholarships at the ceremony.

Later, a science exhibition and competition will also be held on the occasion. —APP
