HYDERABAD, Oct 23: The Government Secondary Teachers Association, Hyderabad district, at an urgent meeting held at the Government High School on Thursday demanded the dismissal of the Nazim, union council No9, Hyderabad city, for his insulting behaviour towards the teachers of the high school.

Speaking on the occasion, the district president of the association, Mohammad Safar Memon, said that political interference in the internal affairs of educational institutions should be stopped immediately and the Nazim removed.

He warned that if the Nazim was not dismissed, the teachers would come out on the streets to defend their institutions.

The general secretary, GSTA, Zamir Khan, assured the aggrieved teachers of the full support of the entire teaching community of the district and said that no one would be allowed to blemish the sanctity of educational institutions.

Ashraf Bin Mohammad, Mehmood Chohan, Mubin Ahmed and others also spoke on the occasion.

MUET: The vice-chancellor, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, Prof Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajput, has advised students to attend their classes regularly.

He was talking to students during his visit to various departments here on Tuesday.

He also attended lectures in various departments and institutes and appreciated the attendance of students.
