LAHORE: Some five stoppages of three passenger trains will be eliminated, another three trains will have new stop-over while another 15 trains will switch over to winter timings from Oct 15.
It has been the tradition that summer timings come into effect from April 15 and remain in force till Oct 14 and winter from Oct 15 till April 14 every year since the early quarter of the 20th century when a railway was constructed in this part of the subcontinent, which now comprises Pakistan.
According to the new timetable, Khyber Mail will be stopping at Rawalpindi for 30 minutes while Awam Express will be stopping at Dera Nawab Sahib, Bahauddin Zakarya Express at Ghotki and Musa Pak Express at Khanewal.
Khushhal Khan Khattak Express will not be stopping at Chabh, Awam Express at Dor, Sandal Express at Tataypur, Riazabad and Kot Abbass Shaheed railway stations while stoppage of Islamabad Express at Chaklala railway station will be regularised.
NEW TIMINGS: Khyber Mail will now leave Peshawar Cantt at 10pm instead of 10.30pm. Akbar Express will leave Quetta at 9.45am instead of 9.30am; Jaffar Express will leave Quetta at 9am instead of 8.30am; Badar Express will leave Lahore at 6.15am instead of 7.15am; Ghauri Express will leave Faisalabad at 3:10pm instead of 3.30pm.
Musa Pak will leave Multan at 12.30am instead of 4pm while from Lahore at 12:30am instead of 6pm; Mehar Express will leave Multan at 4.30pm instead of 4.15pm; Chenab Express will leave Lala Musa at 3.30pm instead of 4pm.
Badin Express will leave Hyderabad at 4.30pm instead of 5.10pm and leave Badin at 7.15am instead of 6am.
Waris Shah Fast Train will leave Lahore at 12.30pm instead of 12.15pm and leave Shorkot Cantt at 4.30pm instead of 4pm; Rawalpindi Passenger train will leave Rawalpindi at 8.30am instead of 7.30am while 353-Up Passenger train will leave Sargodha at 10.30am instead of 11am.
