MMA team to meet PM

Published October 23, 2003

LAHORE, Oct 22: A committee of the MMA will call on Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali on his return from Iran to pave way for his meeting with the religious alliance’s senior leadership.

Committee chief Liaquat Baloch told newsmen here on Wednesday that details and agenda of the meeting would be discussed with Mr Jamali after his return from Iran.

He claimed that Mr Jamali had sought time for the meeting through an emissary.

Earlier, a meeting of the Punjab MMA parliamentary party discussed the domestic violence bill tabled in the Punjab Assembly by women MPs and the new schedule for launching a mass contact drive after Eidul Fitr.

The drive had earlier been postponed because of the murder of MNA Maulana Azam Tariq. —Staff Reporter
