KARACHI, Oct 21: Pakistan’s top ranked cueman Khurram Hussain Agha clinched a crucial victory in his final league tie in the World Snooker Championship in Jiangmen City (China) on Monday but his chances for making the knock-out hinges on other group “E” matches.

Khurram ended his league out with an impressive 4-0 victory over Mohsen Abdul Aziz of Qatar, according to a message received by Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) on Tuesday.

Khurram can only reach the last-32 stage if Elfed Evans of Wales beat Shannon Dikson of Australia and Chinese Zhang Kai loses to Qatari Mohsen Abdul Aziz in their final league encounter.

Talented Khurram is currently placed fifth with point six frames difference as he ended with six victories and four defeats in the group.

Brilliant but erratic at times Saleh Muhammad continued his fantastic run by inflicting a 4-0 defeat on Palaza Hamori of Hungary.

Such was Saleh’s domination that his Hungarian opponent hardly made few visits to the table. Hamori could manage to score just 32 points in all the four frames.

Potting masterly from all angles, Saleh emerge 64-04, 94-08, 94-14, 120-6 winner. Saleh completed routine victory in commanding fashion by carving out a smart break 78 in final frame.—APP
