KARACHI: Pakistan’s Mohammad Saqib made a sterling start at the inaugural IBSF World U-18 Snooker Championship when he out-potted Semen Pechatnikov of Russia 3-0 in St Petersburg on Sunday.

It was a great start by debutant Saqib, who constructed two brilliant breaks including 52 in the opening frame and 91 in the third to chalk out a 108-10, 118-06, 118-0 victory.

Abdul Raheem, another Pakistan cueist who is the national junior champion, is also participating in the St Petersburg event.
