ISLAMABAD: Pakistani rights activist Syeda Ghulam Fatima was honoured with the ‘Global Citizen Award for Leadership in Civil Society’ during the Clinton Global Citizen award ceremony in New York.

A statement from the Clinton Foundation said Ms Fatima had been honoured for driving a proactive approach towards policy and advocating for core labour standards in Pakistan, a private TV channel reported.

The Ninth Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards honoured outstanding individuals from across the world for their leadership and groundbreaking work that has effected positive, lasting social change around the world in the areas of healthcare, poverty and women’s leadership.
