HYDERABAD, Oct 18: A division bench of the Sindh High Court directed the additional advocate-general Masood A. Noorani on Friday to apply to the authority concerned for cancellation of illegal permission to ply buses between Hyderabad and Karachi.
The order was passed by the bench on a constitutional petition filed by Riffat Mehmood Butt, proprietor of a coach service, in which he prayed the court to restrain the respondent, DSP traffic, from harassing him.
The petitioner said that he had a valid permit granted after due approval but the DSP was applying undue pressure to meet his demands and added that due to these illegal measures, his business was being affected.
However, AAG Noorani, who was representing the secretary, RTA, said the DCO had no authority to grant permission to the petitioner.
Therefore, the court directed him to apply to the secretary, RTA, for cancellation of the illegal permission.
