KARACHI, Oct 18: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan will be the chief guest and US consul-general in Karachi Douglas C Rohn will be the guest of honour at the inaugural session of five-day teachers training workshop, being organized by the Children’s Resources International here on Oct 20.
The workshop will be attended by teachers from both government and private sector schools of Lyari, Orangi, North Nazimabad and Mehmoodabad Town.
CRI is a non-profit educational and training organization based in Washington DC. It was in 2002 that CRI commenced implementation of its “creating democratic schools programme” under a grant from the USAID.
It was under the very programme that early childhood education continues to be undertaken at a considerable scale in the country. CRI provides training and technical assistance, resource materials and active learning classroom equipment to all its 114 schools (104 government and 10 private) in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Karachi.
The CRI trained staff of early childhood specialists in offices at Islamabad and Karachi.—APP
