SAVAR (Bangladesh), Oct 17: Marcus Trescothick hit 96 to help steer England to 333 all out in their first innings and a position of strength on the second day of their three-day tour match with Bangladesh “A” on Friday.
Trailing by 91, the home side batted again and at the close were six for no wicket in their second innings.
Trescothick hit 10 fours and four sixes in a 117-ball knock before falling leg before to paceman Alamgir Kabir.
The opener ably repaired some early damage after Kabir removed Michael Vaughan (1) and Paul Collingwood (0), leaving England on three for two.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh called up two uncapped players on Friday in a 13-man squad for the first Test against England starting next Tuesday in Dhaka.
The two are Aftab Ahmed, a middle-order batsman, and 18-year-old left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr.
