FAISALABAD, Dec 24: The Toba Tek Singh district council has decided to make operative ghost educational institutions without burdening the national exchequer.
Talking to Dawn here on Monday, Toba Nazim Chaudhry Muhammad Ashfaq said the district government would run 29 schools which had been closed for the last many years due to alleged negligence of the education functionaries concerned.
He said some 1,052 teachers had been recruited temporarily through a selection committee. He said the monthly emoluments to the teaching staff would be paid from the amount collected on account of fee. No funds would be obtained from the national exchequer for this purpose.
The Nazim said plans were being evolved in the health sector on the same pattern. He said a comprehensive master plan for the uplifting and beautification of the district was also being conceived.
