SUKKUR: The young Pakistani student, Waqas Ali, who recently won the bronze medal in the PowerPoint 2013 contest of the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship-2015 in Dallas, USA, was honoured at a ceremony held at the Institute of Business Administration, Sukkur, on Sunday.

Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah was the chief guest.

Sukkur IBA Prof Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui presented the welcome address and praised the talent of Waqas Ali, a young student of the FFC Govt Grammar School, Mirpur Mathelo. Mr Shah congratulated his parents and teachers on Waqas’s exceptional performance and presented him a cheque of Rs100,000. A cheque of the same amount was given to him by Tanveer Panezai, an alumni of the Sukkur IBA. The institute also presented a latest laptop to the winner while a corporate firm awarded him a gold medal.

Cash prizes were distributed to 51 students of the IBA community colleges who secured A1 and A grades in the class-Xand and XII examinations-2015 under the Aga Khan University Board.
