KARACHI, Oct 16: Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF), has invited bridge legend, Munir Ataullah to train and coach Monte Carlo-bound Pakistan team for Super-Bowl World Bridge Championship to be held there next month.

Secretary PBF Tariq Rasheed Khan said on Thursday that Munir had been requested to polish the skill and enhance the performance of Pakistan bridge teams for the global contest.

PBF first intended to hire a foreign coach for the assignment. However, due to time factor and also financial constraints, the plan could not work.

Munir, who was part of Pakistan team which finished runners-up in Bermuda Bowl in 1986, volunteered services to prepare Pakistan teams. Besides a good column writer, an analyzer and a critic, Munir holds high ranking in international bridge.

It may be recalled that Pakistan has earned a unique distinction of representing Zone-IV, in all the three disciplines, Open, Ladies and Senior’s Bowl, of the World Bridge Championship schedule to be held at Monte Carlo from Nov 3 to 15.—APP
