SUKKUR, Oct 16: Sindh Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam deputy secretary- general Maulana Abdul Qayoom Halejvi has expressed his concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, price-hike and joblessness in the country.

Presiding over a meeting of the party Majlis-i-Shoora at the Madressah Dar-ul-Quran here on Thursday, he also condemned the killing of Maulana Azam Tariq, journalist Ameer Bakhsh Brohi and Hafiz Badaruddin Abbasi, said a press statement.

Mr Halejvi demanded early arrest of the killers of Maulana Tariq, newsman Brohi and Mr Abbasi. Rejecting construction of the Kalabagh dam and the greater Thal canal, the Maulana said his party would participate in the protest rally against the projects in Hyderabad on Oct 23.
