LAHORE, Oct 15: Two shops were gutted and a house and a Wapda transformer partially damaged by fire at Malik Park on the Bund Road, here on Wednesday.
According to fire brigade officials, a fire erupted from oil drums kept in the two shops and it spread to the adjoining house. Power lines were melted due to fire after which electricity supply to the locality was disrupted.
The flames also damaged a Wapda transformer and 15 electricity and gas meters as well as household appliances.
Four fire tenders struggled for two hours to put out the blaze.
No loss of life was reported, but the property burnt was estimated to be over Rs1 million.—APP
