Two soldiers killed, one injured in S. Waziristan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Two soldiers have been killed after a roadside improvised explosive device (IED), planted by terrorists in Nano area of South Waziristan, exploded when a military convoy was passing through the area.

Sources in security forces confirmed the casualties on Wednesday and said the convoy was attacked near Nano area, killing two security personnel and injuring another. Mehsud Taliban spokesman Azam Tariq claimed responsibility for the attack, saying one vehicle was destroyed in the attack.

Meanwhile, the bomb disposal unit of security forces defused an IED planted by militants near Tanga on Jandullah-Wana Road. The BDU officials said that 16kg of explosives had been packed in the bomb.
