KARACHI, Oct 15: Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Health, Noman Sehgal, has stressed joint efforts to solve the problems of blind and other special people. He was addressing as chief guest at a seminar organized by the Pakistan Association for the Blind (PAB) to mark the White Cane Safety Day at a local hotel here on Wednesday.

He said facing any kind of disability demands courage, for which encouragement and motivation are essential. He added that NGOs were playing a laudable role in that regard.

Mr Sehgal further said that orders had been issued to provide special people with jobs in the health department as per the specified quota, and blind people would be given employment wherever they could be adjusted.

WALK: Hundreds of visually impaired students participated in a walk on Wednesday to commemorate the White Cane Safety Day.

The walk was jointly organized by the Lions Club International and Ida Rieu School for the Blind. It commenced from the school premises near Purani Numaish, and passing through Numaish and Guru Mandir, culminated at the Quaid’s Mazar, where the participants laid a floral wreath and offered fateha.— PPI/APP
