ECP de-notifies Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday de-notified National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq with effect from August 22, 2015, after receiving a copy of the decision announced by Punjab election commission's tribunal.

Meanwhile PML-N sources told DawnNews that Sadiq's lawyers had prepared a 50-page petition, challenging the decision of Punjab's election tribunal.

Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz's Ayaz Sadiq had defeated PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the 2013 general elections from NA-122 after which PTI had challenged the results.

ECP de-notification notice

Punjab election commission's tribunal on Saturday ordered re-polling in National Assembly constituency, NA-122, declaring the election in the constituency null and void – accepting Imran Khan's petition challenging the 2013 election result.

Federal Information Minister Pervez Rashid announced on Sunday that the judgment of the election tribunal regarding deseating of Ayaz Sadiq would be challenged in the Supreme Court.

ECP orders re-polling for Attock

After the assassination of Punjab home minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada, ECP has ordered re-polling on the now vacated provincial assembly seat of Attock-II.

In a notification issued on August 24, ECP ordered the re-polling of the seat and issued a schedule for the same.

According to the ECP issued schedule, the last date for filing of nomination papers is September 9, with the polling scheduled for October 6, 2015.

Khanzada was killed in a suicide attack on his political office in Shadi Khan village, Attock, along with 16 others.

ECP's non professionalism and irregularities exposed by none other but by ECP's own tribunal is a unique charge sheet against ECP itself. The judge and the culprit is the same. What to make out of it. When elections conducted by ECP are not credible how come the findings of the same ECP are credible and being celebrated all over Pakistan with zeal .

Protectors of rigging will go and get a stay order on this! why would you expect any honesty from who rigged the elections and then went on to cover up for years so no one can find out how and what happened in this day light robbery of Pakistan people mandate! This is not the end at all. PML-N is still the party in power and because Punjabis like to be on the winning side, Ayaz Sadiq still has a good chance of being re-elected because the CPEC is a PML-N initiative and the PTI has not shown any progress anywhere. However if Lahoris vote with their hearts, then PTI might win.

Challenge and re challenge,stay order or revoke.What are these laws?A circus. Only justice for those who have money to spend and waste on petty disputes like politics.How precious are these seats to our people.In the West,as soon as the politician loses,they quit and shift out of their offices the same night.It happens in Canada and USA too.

Can our court give a sensible verdict this time round please! The problem is that police and judiciary in Sindh and Punjab is biased due to long ruling of PML(N) in Punjab and PPP/MQM in Sindh at least at provincial levels, which has paralyzed the court system as the judges have been appointed by the respective govt. of PML(N) and PPP/MQM over 30 years or so.

The populace knows now for certain that this election was rigged. A Punjab tribunal de-seats the sitting National Assembly Speaker, a stalwart of PML-N in their stronghold Punjab. We all also know that they with their VJ friend will use every legal trick to hang on by getting stay after stay. My humble request to the Supreme Court is Follow the Letter and Spirit of the law. Do not interfere with the workings of the Election Commission as this is the source that determines the WILL of the people. Please make the Election Commission Clear of all Political controversy. Thank you.

ECP is a complete shamble and NA 122 election is a prime example of its inconsistencies. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq is a man of honour and did nothing wrong in this election. He actually saved PTI legislatures by not accepting their resignations.

What about the election tribunal of the supreme court? They gave clean sheet to the 2013 elections!! Two out of four seats to which PTI raise objections are already being denotified, Saad Rafeeq and Ayaz Sadiq. What our judiciary cant see that the rest of Pakistan can see clearly?

Am more convinced than ever that the char halqay were manipulated and managed by the umpire to show irregularaties when required to descredit the entire election process. Supreme court should issue arrest warranrs of the concerned RO'S and the polling staff and try them under criminal laws to get to the bottom of this whole story. Even a child can understand who is behind this char halqay saga.

ECP should also de-notify all those legislators of Provincial Assemblies as well as National Assembly,who are facing corruption charges,or who are fugitives.The powers for de-notifications should also be assigned to FIA,NAB,High Courts and Supreme Court .
