KHAIRPUR, Oct 14: The Kot Diji police on Tuesday registered a kidnapping case against six men who, according to a PPP MPA, were party activists.
According to the police, Sabul, Mohammad Hassan, Wazir, Abdul Hameed, Ahmed Khan and Ali Nawaz Mehrani had kidnapped councillor Sukhio Mal who was later recovered from the Otaq (guest house) of Bafo union council Nazim Atta Hussain.
The police that Sabul, Mohammad Hassan, Wazir, Abdul Hameed and Ahmed Khan had been arrested.
On the other hand, People’s Party Parliamentarians MPA Nawab Wassan said that the case was a concocted one and aimed at harassing PPP activists and supporters.
He said that the accused were known PPP activists therefore the matter should be investigated at high-level.
He told journalists that the Kot Diji police had registered different cases, including those of water theft, against 12 PPP workers during the last two months.
He alleged that as PPP-backed Awam Dost Panel candidates had a strong position in the ensuing election of the taluka Nazim, its councillors were being harassed for the benefit of the opponents.
SUSPENDED: The deputy district officer (education) suspended 57 teachers here on Tuesday.
The DDO paid surprise visits to different girls and boys schools and noted the names of absent teachers.
He suspended 19 women teachers of the Primary School, Jilani, 12 of Nasir Public School, 10 of the Girls Primary School, Osta Gahi, six of the Girls Middle School, Osta Gahi, and 10 men teachers.
