GHOTKI: Two cases of child sexual abuse and subsequent video blackmailing have emerged in Ghotki district's Ghotki Taluka, forcing the families of the victims to flee their homes.

Ghotki SSP Saqib Mehmood Sultan took notice of the incidents following which police lodged a case against six suspects.

No arrests have been made as yet.

The father of a 15-year-old victim says his son was sexually assaulted by some 'influential people'. He added that the the culprits had filmed the assault and were blackmailing the family, demanding a huge amount of money.

He said his family had no other option but to flee their village as they were poor and were helpless against the influential suspects.

These cases have surfaced after a child abuse scandal came to light recently, with media reports claiming that around 400 videos of 280 victims were made by a gang in Husain Khanwala, Kasur.
