3 US troops killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Oct 14: Two US soldiers died in a military vehicle accident in Baghdad and another was found dead, floating in the Euphrates river in the northwestern Iraqi town of Haditha, coalition forces said on Tuesday.

“Two First Armoured Division soldiers were killed and one was injured in a military vehicle accident with a civilian vehicle in Baghdad on Monday,” the US-led occupation administration said in a statement.

It also said a Third Armoured Cavalry Regiment soldier was found dead in the Euphrates river, in Haditha, 250km northwest of Baghdad.

“The soldier was found floating in the river approximately 20 minutes after be-ing reported missing on Monday evening,” the statement said.
