HYDERABAD: Former PPP parliamentarian Abdul Qayyum Butt formed his own Popular Peoples Party after deviation from the PPP leadership and announced that its convention would be held in Pakistan soon.

Qayyum Butt was made chairman of the newly-formed party and former provincial minister of PPP Mohammad Bux Lashari its provincial coordinator.

Addressing a press conference via video link from London at the local press club on Wednesday, Butt said it was not a new political party, but it was the PPP of founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto which would be restored and there would be a movement to make a party of sincere and faithful activists of the PPP.

Senior vice chairman Akhtar Baig from Australia and senior vice president Mohammad Agha Waseem from Denmark were present through video link. He said that those who were using the name of the PPP were not followers of revolutionary manifestos defined by PPP of ZA Bhutto. And those people never made any sacrifice for the PPP at any tough time. Majority of those people were remains of dictator Ziaul Haque. Head of this PPP was corrupt and killer of Bhutto’s son, he said.
