Non-bailable arrest warrant issued for Altaf in Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain today.

The development comes as a result of multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) that were registered in the province against the MQM chief. ATC-1 of GB was holding a hearing on the case today.

The FIRs were registered under sections related to treason and rebellion against the state of Pakistan. A total of nine FIRs were registered by concerned citizens of GB.

Earlier this week, a three-member bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) was constituted to assess the maintainability of a case against MQM chief for his earlier remarks about the Pakistan Army.

In July, FIRs were registered in different parts of the country against Altaf Hussain for remarks made by him against the chief of Rangers in Sindh and the paramilitary force in recent speeches.

In the FIRs, Hussain was accused of involvement in cases of criminal conspiracy, waging or attempting or abetting the waging of war against Pakistan and committing acts of terrorism.

In April, Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations Major-General Asim Bajwa had said that earlier statements made by the MQM chief regarding the Pakistan Army would be legally pursued.

Imran Khan was issued the same non bailable warrant for attacking government institutions during dharna in Islamabad. He roams freely IN Pakistan and never arrested. This is a joke.

What a joke and waste of time? First the FIR's and now arrest warrant. I thought democracy allows Freedom of Speech and wait a minute is AH only individual in Pakistan who hurled aggressive approach towards mighty Forces? Guess NOT. If it is a sin to speak against establishment then for sure I need to see FIR's against Khawaja Asif Defence Minister ofPakistan, Asif Zardari Ex-President of Pakistan, Imran Khan Head of PTI, Munawar Islam ex Amir of Jamat Islami. Let justice prevail at all times and NOT selective justice. God bless Pakistan!!!!!

According to Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif GB is not a constitutional part of Pakistan, that's why the Courts pf Gilgit Baltistan have no jurisdiction over any Pakistani National.
