KARACHI, Oct 11: Karachi Club’s Khulood Bawa was the outstanding performer winning three golds as eight new records were established on the opening day of the 12th Sindh women’s swimming championship which began at the Karachi Parsi Institute (KPI) on Saturday.

Natasha Riaz set new mark in 100 meter breastroke Group 5 (open age) with one minute. 27.39 second beating her own mark.

Ayaza Tareen won the gold with 1min.27.59 sec) 100M Individual Medley-Group 1- with time of 1min.27.59 second. Previous record was held by Daniya Sardar 1m:48.61 sec)

Khulood Bawa created new record in 50M Freestyle- Group 2- Khulood Bawa— New record 33.38 second beating previous record by nearly a second.

Other records set were in 200M Individual Melody- group 5 Sana Wahid- New record 2 min:48.28 seconds (previous record held by Natasha Riaz was 2: 58.71).

50M Butterfly—Group 2-Khulood Bawa- New record set in the heats 37.30 seconds. 4x50M Medley Relay— group 2- Karachi Grammar School (KGS) new record 2 min:59.62 sec previous record held by Karachi Club (KC) 3m.03.264x25M Medley Relay— group 1- Karachi Grammar school new record 1min:31.33 sec previous record held by them was 1 min:35.91 4x 100M Medley Relay- Group 5- KC-new record 5 min:37.34 previous record held by them was 05:50.80

All twenty institutes participated in the march pass with the Special Olympic swimming leading it who will also participate in a swimming event on Sunday.
