KARACHI, Oct 11: All legalities pertaining to the unification of PML factions would be completed by Nov 15 by the PML constitutional committee which is working on it, according to Shaikh Sirajuddin, the Secretary, Organizing Committee of Unified PML.

Mr Shaikh was talking to a group of newsmen at a dinner hosted by a PML leader, Capt (r) Haleem A. Siddiqui, here on Friday.

A large number of PML and Sindh Democratic Alliance leaders, including Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh, were present on the occasion.

When his attention was drawn to a statement issued by the PML-Q’s Organizing Committee, Sindh, Mr Shaikh clarified that all the PML breakaway factions would cease to exist after unification.

However, he added, if anyone insisted on a faction’s individuality, he should wait for further explanation by the PML chief, Chaudhary Shujaat, who would be returning to the country shortly.

Till that time, he added, one could get a statement issued by Gen (r) Majid Malik who was authorized by Mr Hussain to look after such affairs in his absence.

Shaikh Sirajuddin expressed his reservations over the membership drive launched by a committee headed by Nisar Memon. “Under what mandate, the committee has launched the membership drive and under which clause of the party’s constitution, people are being extended membership?”
