KARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has gone into full gear to contest the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for Sept 20.

In this connection, PPP Sindh chapter executive committee held a meeting at the CM House here on Friday presided over by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, who is also president of the provincial chapter.

The meeting reviewed preparations so far made by PPP parliamentary boards under the chairmanship of PPP district presidents for selection of candidates for the union councils and union committees.

It also formed a constitution committee that would formulate a manifesto for the local government elections. Members of the executive committee made suggestions for preparations of the LG elections.
