Pakistan files complaint with UNMOGIP over 'Indian ceasefire violations'

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army has registered a complaint with United Nations Military Observers group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) against cease fire violations by the Indian Army along the Line of Control (Loc) and Working Boundary, according to statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR statement said, "In its case Pakistan Army highlighted the Indians' use of heavy mortars and machine guns on civil population, living along working boundary and line of control, which has resulted into martyrdom of four civilians and injured five other during the past two days.

"UNMOGIP was asked to use its good offices to investigate Indian cease fire violation," ISPR said.

At least three people were killed and five others injured in Sialkot's Chaprar sector on Thursday, whereas another person was killed in firing across the Line of Control (LoC) in Rawalakot's Neza Pir sector in a separate incident.

An exercise in futility like everything else, why don't we move our people away from border and ensure no trespassing of children, women and other kinds of people into Indian territory which cause these kind of firing violations and i don't believe we are innocent either.

The Indian says that there is infiltration from Pakistani side. Meanwhile as they try to cross the border they are shot down. So may be Pakistan think they started unprovoked firing 1st... Do both sides share jokes with each other on their regular meetings....

Good Ploy, start firing with the intent India will run to US and others so that plans of internationalizing Kashmir issue is successful, once realizing plan did not turn out as intended, file a complaint with UN yourself

To complain about India to UN was the reason to start firing .killing Innocents is the most disgraceful thing on earth. I am not biased but there is no logic why India will start firing first other than stopping terrorist crossing boundary.....This way India Pakistan conflict will always be in Headlines thats what is the aim ..keep the fire alive. I am sure if this continues for long it will escalate.

@Harmony-1 - UNMOGIP became redundant once Shimla Agreement was signed. UNMOGIP's only function was to monitor Cease Fire Line (CFL); since 1972 there is no CFL.

Its not under UNMOGIP domain after agreement signed between Mussaraff and Manmohan Singh in 2005. All rules and regulation are of Internal Border.

Both sides accuse each other of Cease Fire violation. No one knows the truth. But I do know that even sound from birds start these firings because of confusion. Only solution seems making LOC as international border and allowing Kashmiris to move freely in Kashmir held by both countries. Lets co-exist peacefully and with dignity.

Murder of civilians is what they are good at. No wonder Kashmiris reject india and wave the Pakistani flag and chant Pakistan Zindabad slogans very regularly. The sooner india accepts a free and independent Kashmir, the sooner they can focus on the 60 lakh indians who are dirt poor and in dire need of proper sanitation and sewage facilities.

@tamil Good ploy - claim your are innocent in Kashmir while women get raped in indian-administered police stations, claim martyrs buried in mass graves are "ISI sponsored infilitrators" while it's already been proven in the international press that most if not all of them were innocent civilians whose only crime was chanting "Azadi" slogans. Anti-indian sentiment on both sides of the LoC is only rising more than it already was, and there's a blunt reason for that.
