Is Hema Malini the new Salman Khan? Twitter seems to think so

On July 2, Bollywood actress and politician Hema Malini was in a car accident, which killed a four-year-old girl.
The incident was heavily covered by the press, but many believe that undue coverage was given to Malini's injuries and subsequent plastic surgery at a private hospital. People are incensed that the other party's treatment was delayed: they were taken to a government institution after Malini had been whisked away to the private hospital. According to the NDTV, the deceased girl's father claims that his daughter could have been saved had she been taken to the hospital with Malini.
Even though Malini has been discharged from the hospital, she has yet to inquire about the well-being of the other party, which is being perceived as an added offense, reports The Hindu.
People have taken to Twitter to express their outrage, some going as far as to dub her as the new Salman Khan.

We really don't know the exact accident and accident circumstances.Whom to name? the driver, hemamalini ( for not caring the child) or the roads? One thing is sure, many roads are death traps. people have no road sense. Darvin's theory of ' survival of the fittest' is very much practised on the roads.

Hema Malini was responsible for the accident.Why can't she told the driver to slow down.She should always direct the driver constantly how to drive.Yes it was driver but Hema should be on the charge of the car.An MP is a powerful person,he or she has the capability of controlling things around so how is it she didn't control the car and the driver.It can be understandable that she was shocked after the accident and the people may have carried her instantly after the accident but how she could let the incident happened at the first place.Accidents are happened with normal persons not with distinguished people who have so much control over the things around.I think she should be booked for the same legal penalty's same as driver's.

If you drive car in most cities, you will see people will come on all directions, front, back reverse, sideways. only side ,no one will come, is on your top. In Cities like Chennai autos will give light signal on his left, then show his hand signal on right,but he will go straight only. To be a successful driver in India one should undergo a' Psychology course'first.

Had been a car accident, came out unhurt but the shock and disorientation was intense. Complete blank. A person who goes through this only knows what he/she is feeling. A person whose nose is fractured at the age of 70+ cannot be expected to think of anything but assistants taking charge and taking her to a hospital. Empty heads talk and talk, speculate and spread rumors. Get back to work.

I hate the hypocrisy involved here. Its the press who was chasing Hema ji till the hospital. Its the police and administration which provided medical help to the injured ones. Its the roads and driving sense of people, which is the cause of accidents. Moreover, it was the fault of the other driver, because of which accident happened.
Hema ji was in fact sleeping in the car when accident happened. Then she was unconscious. How is it her fault?
The real problem is that - India has world's highest number of road accidents. Over 100,000 people get killed in road accidents every year. Thats the real issue we must focus on, instead of bashing an injured woman.
Salman's case was much different. He lied, tried to buy the witnesses, and tried to subvert the law. The police officer who arrested him, later committed suicide under pressure. We can imagine the rest.

Yes, your child would have been saved, if have made sure to put your indicator signal and wait for the opposite vehicle to pass by, specially when you are taking a turn in highway, where people go at much higher speed.
I am not saying, Hemamalini's driver was correct, who drove at 150km/hr. But unfortunately the kid's father is equally responsible. Now he is trying to divert his guilt. Also the onlookers, who did not make enough arrangement to carry the child. We can't blame the person who took Hemamalini, at least he helped one. Similarly someone else could have taken this kid too. (In India, people fear about police queries there after). For whatever reasons, unfortunately a tender life was lost. My sympathies with the family.

It's an asymmetrical world. The focus of the news is on Hema Malini and the relatively minor injuries suffered by her. The news was not that a little girl was killed in an accident. Celebrity-Ness, branding, the sheen of the outer shell - these are the things that matter.

A perfect example of hypocrisy. I know how many people in India or Pakistan would stop to help the injured, involved in an accident. Our media too is always sensationalize things. Hema Malini was herself injured and what kind of help do we demand from an injured, 60 plus lady on a highway? And probably it was night and most probably Hema Malini was not familiar with that area.
Father of the girl should blame administration or ambulance service for the delay not Hema Malini.

The problem with India is that there are no civic protocols on the roads. Driving licences are handed out for a bribe. People in this country don't deserve to drive. We need to enact a law where Indians are not allowed to drive we outsource driving to westerners

But Hema Malini was not driving. Salman Khan was driving his car when he killed a Muslim. That is why he was convicted. Had the victim been a Hindu Salman Khan would not even have been tried. This India for you.

I'm really with Indian public on this. A two year child died and all they care about is this actress being injured. Pathetic. She should be in jail or house arrest for at least10 years. Make an example out of her so no politician dare to do that again.
