Hailstorm lashes Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Oct 8: Widespread rains followed by hailstorm lashed many parts of the provincial metropolis and its surrounding areas bringing down mercury to 20 degree centigrade on Wednesday, according to Met office.

Met officials said that many areas of the city and cantonment received 30 millimetre rain which started at about 2pm. Some localities including Hayatabad township, University Town, Kohati, Hazarkhwani and its outskirts were hit by hailstorm.

The rain water submerged various roads and streets in cantt and city which caused inconvenience for pedestrians. No loss of life or property was reported from any part of the city.
