Mahira Khan's Bin Roye to hit screens in India!

While cinema buffs in Pakistan are excited about Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan seeing the life of day here, overseas and across the border, people will get to see Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan's Bin Roye on the big screen.
Asia media powerhouses, B4U and HUM Netwoork have decided to join hands to make a widespread release for the romantic drama possible.

Duraid Qureshi, CEO of HUM Network said: “Hum Network is constantly thriving at taking Pakistani entertainment to new heights. We are thrilled that through this collaboration Bin Roye will reach to audiences worldwide”.
The romantic drama also stars Zeba Bakhtiar, Javed Sheikh and Junaid Khan among others and has been directed by Momina Duraid of Humsafar fame.
Dubbed a music-driven movie, it has some big names behind its soundtrack, such as Abida Parveen and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, which will be revealed on July 6.
The feature film is slated for an Eid release and will also be turned into a drama series for HUM TV.

In India there are 3 holidays in which big movies are released - Eid, Diwali and Christmas/ New Year. "Bin Roye" may be an excellent movie but no movie can survive in these three slots. These slots are owned by Khans, Hrithik, Ajay and Akshay. I wish Bin Roye had been released a month after Bajrangi Bhaijaan (BB).
For 20 years Khans have ruled these 3 slots. Mahira's film will get swamped in the Salman tsunami. BB will be released in over 5000 screens in India. There will be mass hysteria of Salman fans. Anyway, I think Mahira was ill advised B4U in India so she chose the Eid slot. B4U is a big name in India no doubt but Salman Khan is the 800 pound gorilla.

There is some potential in few circuits where there is good Muslim population like lucknow,hyderabad but I think B4u has done wrong speculation about it.It would be nice if they would have bought TV rights of the movie and released after few weeks over smaller screen.It can earn good amount of revenue from ads and that would be good amount for a low budget Pakistani movie.But still B4U can do something to make it earn,they should release movie as less no. as possible screens by that way it can make some crowd.

At least find a suitable title for that movie.......Indians gets addicted to big budget ,big canvas ,expensive sets and large diaspora kind of movie, ofc good story is most essential. But, if in any case this movie lags.....it won't last a couple of days in front of BB. Good luck to crew and the cast .....

@Gaurav Arya : Although very fair assessment, I feel that they should've release it a month before the BB and not after. That way they would've cashed in on the pre-Eid enthusiasm where people would be in a mood to spend rather than after when people would be accounting for their festival spending/bills.

Frankly its a foolish decision to release this movie during Eid in India. When Bajrangi Bhaijaan is released, there wont much left to juice . They should have released it a week before or 2-3 weeks after BB release. A weeks below average business in India can be double the lifetime collections in Pakistan.

What a masterfully produced movie based upon this preview and a definite contrast from Humsafar!
Only saw limited episodes of Humsafar when it first aired on HUM TV; IMO, it was way too dark, overly dramatic and depicted Mahira Khan's role as a helpless and too emotionally dependent upon the main male character.
Bin Roy seems to be a breath of fresh air in its cinematic visuals, and best of all it showcases strong, independent minded females with positive self esteem. One can be sure, it will be a resounding success in India - especially among viewers celebrating the Eid festival. Bin Roye's theme is highlighting classically cultural scenes with intelligent dialogue vs shallow, gratuitous productions which Bollywood is (in) famous for.
As long as B4U's promotional campaign for Bin Roye is widespread throughout Indian theaters, it should do well. BTW, the lead actress Mahira is a very special and highly talented member of the "KHAN" tribe ; )

Welcome. But hope you bring in something different, rather than trying to be a smaller and less skilled, wanna-be Bollywood. We know you people love bollywood and your culture is essentially north Indian culture. But our subcontinent has a distinct cultural flavor every 200 miles. The erstwhile north-west of india (now pakistan) has its own flavor to add. Bring that up. Be yourself Pakistan. Best wishes.
