RAWALPINDI: Three teenagers drowned in a nullah while having a picnic near Kahuta on Wednesday, police said.

Abdul Mannan, 17, Ahmed Alam, 16, and Mohammad Rashid, 18, from Muslim Town were having a picnic near Nila Sund Kahuta. They then went into a nearby nullah to swim.

As they entered the nullah, one of them lost his balance and began to drown. On seeing their friend drowning, the other two also jumped in, but also lost their balance and drowned.

Later, people from the nearby area rushed to the scene and tried to bring out the boys with the help of ropes but their efforts proved unproductive. Later divers came to the nullah and retrieved the bodies. The bodies were handed over to the families.
