KARACHI, Oct 8: The 28th death anniversary of a former chief minister of Sindh, Pir Illahi Bakhsh, was observed at his family residence on Wednesday.

Member Provincial Assembly, Ms Marvi Mazhar, Pir Illahi Bakhsh’s son, Pir Abdur Rahseed, chairman Pir Illahi Bakhsh Housing Society, Saleemuddin and press secretary of the Pir Illahi Bakhsh Foundation, Ali Asghar, paid tribute to the late leader.

Ms Marvi said it augured well that people remembered their leaders and apprise the new generation of their achievements.

Senior officials, along with social and political leaders also attended the death anniversary.

Pir Illahi Bakhsh, an associate of Quaid-i-Azam, played a prominent role in developing housing facilities for people migrating to Pakistan following the country’s independence.

Quran Khawani and Fateha Khawani were offered for the soul of Pir Illahi Bakhsh.—APP
