WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama signed into law on Monday legislation that gives him “fast-track” power to negotiate trade deals and speed them through Congress, but he said he still has a battle ahead to finalise the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership deal.
“We still have some tough negotiations that are going to be taking place,” Obama said at a signing ceremony for the legislation, surrounded by some of the lawmakers who helped him pass it after a six-week congressional fight.
