ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Flying Officer Junaid Saleem has achieved the singular distinction of winning the “Best Overseas Cadet Award” at Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) College at Cranwell.

Toby Dennis, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire presented him with the award at a special ceremony.

Pakistan High Commission in UK arranged a brief ceremony to celebrate Junaid Saleem's achievement in London on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Syed Ibne Abbas congratulated the officer on his “remarkable success that brought about a good name for Pakistan”.

He said the officer's success was a testimony to the high professional standards of PAF which had always stood up to its reputation.

The high commissioner remarked: “It is a proud moment not only for the Pakistan Air Force, but for the whole nation. This also shows that our educational and training institutions are second to none and can impart excellence in various fields, as manifested in Junaid's success.”

Junaid Saleem attributed his success to the training he received at Pakistan Air Force Academy Risalpur and his parents' prayers.

He said his achievement would further boost the morale of the armed forces of Pakistan who were engaged in bringing about peace and stability in the country by fighting extremism and terrorism.

The officer expressed his firm resolve to serve the nation in line with the traditions of PAF.
