26 injured as bus overturns

NAWABSHAH, Dec 23: At least 26 passengers including five women were injured when a speedy bus overturned due to breaking of tie-rod near Doulatpur on National Highway.

According to details, a Bhitshah bound bus coming from Thari Mirwah overturned near Sitara petrol pump on the highway when its tie-rod was broken into two.

Those seriously injured were identified as Khalil Ahmed, Tariq Mir and Ali Murad and were brought to People’s Medical College Hospital here.

Others including Zubair Ahmed, Munir Ahmed, Mohammad Ishaque, Mohammad Paryal, Mohammad Bukhsh, Ghulam Shabbir, Mohammad Hanif, Aziz, Ghulam Akbar, Ms Sakina, Ghulam Fatima, Ms Shamshad, Ms Shama, Ms Shabnam Jamal, Allah Dino, Mohammad Ashfaq and Ms Soni were taken to Qazi Ahmed hospital.

CRIME: Nawabshah police has failed to control criminal activities and the crime ratio has crossed normal limits.

Several incidents of thefts have been reported in the city the other day.

In B-section police station jurisdiction, unidentified men barged into the house of Barkat Ali, SDO public health, and took away gold jewellry. Two unidentified men took away the motorcycle of ex-MPA Abdul Majeed. Jewellry was taken away by unidentified thieves from the house of Qarar Baig.

In the jurisdiction of A-section police station, unidentified men took away two goats of Akram Qureshi. In Manuabad, gold ornaments and cash were taken away from a house.
