FAISALABAD, Oct 6: An unknown person was shot dead while a constable sustained serious injuries on Monday in a brief shootout on Waghywala Road in the limits of Khurrianwala police station.
Two police motorcyclists on patrol duty spotted five suspects standing on a roadside. As policemen came to them and ask about their identity, they opened fire on them, injuring seriously constable Falak Sher.
The other constable returned the fire, killing one of them instantly. However, the other four accomplices of the deceased managed to escape from the scene.
The injured constable was rushed to the Allied Hospital where his condition was described as critical.
